silveronthetree asked: Hey, I just started to read your last story and I was a disconcerted when you chose to name Catgirl!Cass Bengal, because as far as I know she doesn't have any Bangladeshi or Indian Bengali heritage. I was wondering why you chose that name and if it has any significance that I'm not aware of?

I chose it because of the Bengal cat breed, which reminds me of Cass - it’s a strong, stealthy cat with a fierce appearance, but tends to be very gentle and loving.

I’m sorry to say I didn’t consider the implications there, and if anyone finds it appropriative or offensive I can definitely change it.

(Though I’ve always wondered if Lady Shiva had some Indian heritage because, you know, Shiva.)
