Why am I starting to read Countdown at midnight on a Friday night? I’m angry with the world enough as it is already.

Okay, complete tangent here, sorry:

I can never decide if Jason would use ‘crazy’ in this way. I don’t think he’d be ableist on purpose (though I do think he has some internalised ableism that he turns on himself). But would he recognise it as such? He hasn’t exactly had time to ponder and analyse and read up on that kind of thing.

I really don’t think Barbara would, meanwhile, because she has had that time and she analyses and researches everything. So I kind of - grimace whenever it happens in canon. I mean, I do anyway, but for additional reasons.

Same goes for Tim, though again, he’s internalised some toxic shit.

ive thought about this too, and i think he probably would use it, honestly? i dont know that he necessarily “believes” in “crazy” as being a thing, but i think he would use it, just because like… being raised by bruce, and bruce’s heavy emphasis on his enemies being “insane” this and “psychotic” that, and how heavy a role the joker and his unexplainable evil plays in his life and his views on morality, i just think it would at least be in his vocabulary and not something hes examined too heavily.

Oh, yeah, that’s a great point - that would definitely influence how he speaks about criminals, even if he doesn’t entirely buy into it.

It’s different with Tim, because Bruce was never really the one raising him, he had other parental guidance.
