its like, bruces parents dying is sad, and dicks parents too, but weve seen those scenes a hundred times
these would be brand new wounds
Oh my gosh yes. ;_; It’s a very different sort of grief, too - Bruce and Dick saw their parents die, but Jason’s left with this lingering uncertainty, this futile hope, wondering if his father abandoned them, if he might ever come back, imagining the worst. (And I do like to think Willis tried to be a good father, who ended up in shadier and shadier crap trying to provide for his family.)
And damn, do I want to meet Catherine Todd.
