If you ask me, Ostrander and Yale unfridged Barbara when they imbued that scene with her point of view and showed her progress from it.
It wasn’t a fridging because she was paralysed. It was a fridging  because it was a brutal, exploitative event that was never about her at  all. It was about a lack of respect and consideration for her as a character and a hero. It was about a lack of agency.
Becoming Oracle was the de-fridging. It was taking that scene and its consequences and showing what it meant to her, and how she dealt with it. It was giving her the respect and agency she’d been denied. It was portraying her as a hero again.
You really think she’s been stuck in the fridge all these years just because she can’t move her legs? You really think the only way to respect her character is to make her able-bodied?
I find that downright offensive, frankly.
